Gynecomasty is aimed at reducing an excessive volume of the pectoral in males through an accumulation of fat or mammary gland.
The technique consists in carrying out a liposuction to remove fat through a small incision around the areola. In some cases, this is complemented by the removal of the mammary gland through a periareolar incision.
It is usually performed under local anaesthesia plus sedation as an ambulatory procedure (without admission to hospital). It takes around an hour.
The outcome is permanent. Practising physical exercise completes the good results of gynecomasty.
